Lantenal the Hermit
Lantenal the Hermit, gatekeeper and proud owner of a lava pool.
The crystalline vessel is the central part of your phylactery, an item which will represent your flesh and will in the transition into adulthood. Lantenal the Hermit knows exactly where to get one - head to his lair in Char, southwest of Dralk to begin the quest to "Acquire an orb of pure crystal".




Saving Face

Lantenal will request that you bring him five shards from the Meteor Crater as proof that you know where it is. Meteor Crater is in the middle of the island with Mia's Edge and Lerena. While the Hermit suggests going to Lerena, you will find Grayling to be a lot closer. If you have not attuned to Grayling, this would be a good time to do so.
Progress check: Your quest window should show "Travel to the meteor crater and retrieve five Shards of Faces" as the current step in the quest "Acquire an Orb of Pure Crystal"

Inside the Meteor Crater are Guardians of Faces. Kill and loot at least five Shards of Faces. Return to Lantenal when you have looted five shards and satisfied your urge to kill.




Paging the Crystallized Golem!

The Hermit will accept your shards as proof, then send you back to summon the Crystallized Golem. This requires a certain spell to be cast upon you, which will last for a short time.
Progress check: Your quest window should show "Defeat the Crystallized Golem" as the current step in the quest "Acquire an Orb of Pure Crystal". You should also have an effect called "Crystalline Focus".

If level 50 enemies squish you like an insect, this would be a good time to get a group. Return to Meteor Crater, summon the Crystallized Golem and defeat it. (See why being attuned to Grayling is convenient?) It has nearly 36000 HP to chip away at - plan your time, group and strategy accordingly. Once you receive the Crystallized Golem Shards, return to Lantenal to receive a Pure Crystal Orb to complete this quest and portion of the Rite of Passage.
