Enemy Ratings:20-27, 45-60
Craft Requirements:300 Smelting
A Silver Claw, Not On a Silver Platter
Silver Golem Fragments -- This is what you need.
The Silver Claw is the second component to your phylactery. Valkoth the
Ancient will guide you through this portion of your Rite of Passage by giving
you the quest Acquire an Imbued Silver Claw.
Valkoth will assign you the task of acquiring twenty-five Silver Golem Shards.
Time must be taking its toll upon that Ancient, for there are no Silver Golem
Shards. Only Silver Golem Fragments exist, and those are the ones you will
need.
A Silver Golem -- You may have to kill a lot of these!
To acquire them, you may venture to the Granitefall Mountains,
northeast of Chiconis (or west of Selen) and kill Silver Golems until you
run ruts around their spawn area. You may also have some stashed prior to
getting the quest, or know someone who has them. Lie cheat or steal, it does
not matter to Valkoth - you just need to have 25 fragments in your possession.
Nadia the Vielo -- Everyone hates her, but they keep coming back!
Word is that the usually overpriced Vielo, Nadia, has a good deal on Silver
Golem Fragments. If you have never visited her and her group in Bristugo,
this would be a good opportunity.
Upon greeting Valkoth with the fragments, you will receive a formula for
Hardened Silver Talons. You will need to make one batch using the Silver
Golem Fragments and Smelting (of at least 300 skill) to progress. Return to
Valkoth when you are done.
The Eternally Entombed
The Entombed Dragon serves its eternal punishment in a statue of silver.
With the Silver Talons created, Valkoth will send you to Draak (not Dralk) to
speak with the Entombed Dragon.
Progress Check: You should have "Travel to Draak, to speak to the Entombed
Soul" as the current step in the quest "Acquire an Imbued Silver Claw".
The fallen dragon colony of Draak.
The journey to Draak has become more treacherous as the Withered Aegis have
begun to expand into the once un-blighted lands southeast of Harro. Bring
friends, as you may encounter enemies much stronger than yourself on the way
to Draak.
Once you arrive in Draak, locate and speak to the Entombed Dragon. He will
give you a sub-quest: "Free the Entombed Soul" -- you will need to kill the
three Enslavers that inhabit Draak.
Progress Check: You should have the quest "Free the Entombed Soul". If 3-4
enemies of rating 50 can kill you easily, this would be a good time to ask
for help.
One of the three enslavers on Draak.
You will now need to locate and kill the three Enslavers. Unlike the
Helians who need to kill them in a specific order, you may kill them in any
order you please. The Enslaver of Mind wanders about the road near where
you likely came into the blight of Draak. The Enslaver of Will can be found
along the road, west of the Entombed, and the Enslaver of Spirit is near the
destroyed (once) floating chambers.
Imbuing A Claw: Trial by Fire
Upon completing this sub-quest, return to the Entombed. He will then present
you with a challenge of battle. It is worth mentioning that if two
hatchlings (grouped or ungrouped) were to accept this challenge at the same
time, they would be faced with two Entombed Wills to deal with. Should you be
doing your Rite of Passage with a companion, it may be best to aid them in
their battle with the Entombed Will before accepting your own challenge.
Once you have succeeded in battle, greet the Entombed Dragon once again to
receive a Bloodied Silver Claw. Show this to Valkoth.
With approval of your success, you will then be sent to Lantenal once again
to harden the soft silver of the claw.
The Hermit will then give you instructions to harden the claw. This is likely
the only time he will actually tell you to go near his lava pool. Enjoy the
opportunity and receive an Imbued Silver Claw to complete this quest and the
corresponding portion of the Rite of Passage.
